Rivermont Pizza, Lynchburg

Our waiter was AWFUL. He asked us what we would like to order as soon as we sat down, and rushed and ignored us throughout the whole night. That would have been somewhat understandable should it have been a packed house, but it was far from crowded. As soon as we were seated he asked if we knew what we would like for dinner, we said we did not but would like to order an appetizer first. He said that was great walked away and came back with water and then asked if we had made our mind up about the appetizer and dinner. We said we had narrowed it down and would welcome suggestions. He then walked away. No comments, no I'll give you a moment, just empty space. He came back a few minutes later and we said we had decided on an appetizer. He then asked if we had decided on dinner yet or not. Again we said we had narrowed it down to two items. He said he liked neither and could be no help. We quickly picked. The appetizer came out and we had no sooner served ourselves, had not even taken a bite yet, then our dinner came out as well. When we asked about the quickness of it we were told that's how it supposed to be. After 3 attempts at getting out waiter's attention, the 4th was the charm to place a drink order. When I asked about wines he said their wines were bad but just to name one and he could scrounge it up. He was correct it was not great wine. I usually order a beer, and they do have great brews. I should have stuck with that. All in all the service was so bad it was comical. I have always had great food and service at Rivermont, it was not ideal at how bad this was. I will go back, but for sure request another waiter should I ever get him again.

food was pretty good - server was a rather forgetful, and we had to ask for things more than once, but the rest of the staff were very helpful. Overall a good place to go.

Go early. Weekends are really busy. Don't be in a hurry. Everything is cooked to order. The food was delicious, but unfortunately, the restaurant has gotten a bit scuzzy since we were last there. Back hall, doors, walls, trim, etc. were all pretty dirty looking. Edgy is one thing, dirty is another.
