About Sylvan Learning
The staff at Sylvan Learning's numerous study facilities understand that each child learns differently. Therefore, they don’t try to implement a uniform tutoring system; instead, they design custom lesson programs based on the results of standardized testing, diagnostic tools, and one-on-one interviews.
Tutors work with students from kindergarten through Grade 12, illuminating topics ranging from basic reading and writing to remembering complex algebraic formulas without having them tattooed on your chest. Many of Sylvan’s instructors work in local schools, so they are intimately familiar with common core standards and understand how to gear lessons toward optimal results.

they try to follow the initial test they give, but when the actual tutors realize the student needs to be advanced, the tutors can do nothing to facilitate the change, they kept saying it had to go through the admin. and from the first session the tutor/teacher recognized he needed to be at a higher level and the same thing at each session was said, yet we spent eight tutoring hours on the same level he already knew, fortunately by the last lesson the tutor actually helped with the algebra homework my son had from school, not because admin. had allowed the change, but because the tutor actually wanted to help with what they saw as my sons need and true level, a little to late after investing that kind of money and going in and speaking to admin. from the start as to what I was looking for to help my son.
