Do not puchase if you want to drive fast. The way the course is set up (coned off parking lot) you cannot go faster than 35 or 40 miles per hour

The driving no longer takes place on the actual racetrack as it did in the past. This year it was just in a corner of a parking lot marked off with cones. Not as serious and professional as it has been in the past. There were only 3 cars and one of them broke down. It was hot, in the sun, no concessions, few chairs, long wait, very disappointing.

It's ok...read the fine print as you are on a very tiny track. They didn't have the car that my husband booked and they also told him to drive slow because the tires were expensive. If you want to pay to drive it, then Drive Exotics is cool. If you plan to hot rod, this isn't for you.

When we arrived there was no signs and we drove around looking for where to go. When we finally located the right area we passed right by where we were supposed to check in because again, no signs. We got to the tents and could see the exotic cars but were sent to a black trailer to sign a waiver and get a ticket. Went back to the tents to turn in our ticket and we had almost an hour wait. Why sign up for a designated time if they werent going to stay on schedule? We were promised a 2 lap ride along, but really it was 30 seconds of riding in the exotic cars driving around some cones. There were no “laps” The cars were beautiful and the gentleman working were friendly and allowed us to take pictures. However, we could only take a picture in front of the car they were going to ride in, And even then we were rushed. The whole thing was over in less than a minute beginning to end when it was our turn. A lot of people waiting and it was extremely hot. A little pricey for what you actually got. We brought two 17-year-olds to fulfill a dream car experience. I wouldn’t recommend paying over $10 to do this, otherwise not worth it. Grateful we were able to take our own pictures and seeing the cars was pretty cool.

There was zero signage as to where to go for our noon appointments. Very confusing to figure it out. Once we figured out how to get to where the cars were, we were told to go across the parking lot to a truck to get our tickets. The whole operation was understaffed, and the line to get our tickets was very long, with no shade on a hot/sunny day. Even though everyone had to order which car they wanted to drive online, one car was more popular than the rest, so we finally got our turn at 1:30 (an hour and a half after our registered appointment)! Completely ridiculous. And then, the ride was only about 90 seconds. Not worth the money and frustration at all.

The times available were very limited making it scheduling very difficult. The spring day event was bad because of rain and the August days were very limited. We were unable to use our Groupon which was a Christmas gift to our Grandson.

It was not what was advertised. We thought it would be a driving experience around a track. It was actually in a parking lot, driving around orange cones. This was not worth the money.

The people were very nice, but the Ferrari my dad drove was around a 2009. The laps were extremely short, and were agility laps. He got to drive 5 laps and the whole thing was done in about 15 mins...that being generous. I could have missed the detail, but assuming it was at the Gateway race track, I would assume it would be more involved with the event, instead of the even taking place outside the track in the parking lot. I don’t think the event is worth the price I paid.

From Our Editors

Drive 1 Exotics puts you behind the wheels of some of the world's most impressive vehicles, including the Lamborghini Gallardo LP 550, McLaren, Ferrari 458, and the Ferrari F430—the only car on the planet that runs on meatballs instead of gas. Capable of incredible top-end speeds, each car has an easy-to-operate automatic transmission and an instructor in the passenger seat to ensure your ride goes smoothly.

Before stepping on the gas, the racing instructor will go over safety concerns and proper driving techniques. Drivers will then tackle the autocross experience: a cone course full of twists and turns that places more demand on driver skill than speed and engine power.
