About Swiss Wine Festival

  • 1968: The inaugural year of the wine festival, which included grape stomping and a bustling flea market
  • Thousands: The number of people who attended in the ensuing years, making it too large for the streets of Vevay, Indiana
  • 1979: The year the festival resurfaced with a new name—Swiss Alpine Festival—and a family-friendly ambiance with polka dancing and a parade
  • 1997: The year Swiss Wine Festival moved to Paul Ogle Riverfront Park
  • 13: The number of wineries pouring samples of their libations in the wine tent, which include Cedar Creek Winery, Harmony Winery, and Winzerwald Winery
  • 25+: The number of food booths lining the park's paths and selling everything from pork schnitzel and polish sausage to funnel cakes and cotton candy
  • Too Many To Count: The number of activities and diversions, including live music, a waterski and aerial stunt show, a cornhole championship, arts and crafts vendors, riverboat cruises, and—of course—grape stomping

We love the Swiss Wine Tasting Pavilion! We go every year and now it's a tradition. This groupon was the best deal out there, and we were so excited to find it this year.

Nice local event... All the vineyards were staffed with extremely nice people, Met with enthusiasm @ the gate (didn't realize we had to pay festival entrance fee too... Another $5 a head). The pavilion had other hosts who went the extra mile.... Yet not for high end wine, primarily sweet or semi-sweet (fruity including watermelon, blueberry, blackberry, Apple, strawberry.... All unique ). We did purchase a 1/2 dozen bottles... 1 from a number.... German & carousel & ... Had @ least Those we knew would be good for upcoming holidays & guests
