They really know how to make sure you are comfortable and having fun. I had no experience going in and was welcomed by all the dancers and instructionsors. I had no partner, but that didn't matter. It's a must try for a good tine. Great date nig too.

Spacious, professional space, atmosphere not intimidating at all, even for someone who has two left feet. Just went with my wife for the first of 8 classes as a kind of gift for her. The instructor(s) are great, but to get the most out of the lessons, one should not be shy and approach them for pointers specific to your needs. They are very approachable. Overall a very nice treat!

Very friendly, laid back environment. Great for couples but I actually went by myself and immediately felt welcome. Definitely recommended!

great instructors. I would definitely recommend Dancesport. It's a little hard to find because it is back in what appears to be the parking lot.

We had an amazing time during our dance lessons. Neither of us had any experience before our first class, but Tom made it easy to understand and fun. The atmosphere was incredibly welcoming and easy going. We can't wait to go back!!

My fiance and I went for our first time last night (beginners class). A fantastic pair of instructors and fun music. Slow enough to accommodate my two left feet but quick enough to keep things interesting. We'll definitely be back!

From Our Editors

Director Tom Choudoir, a competitive dancer and University of Wisconsin-Madison mini-course instructor, draws students into both the stately and fiery sides of the ballroom tradition at Dancesport of Madison. During beginner classes, students learn how to move with a partner and distinguish a song’s beat from the sound of a truck backing up, and feet gain the confidence to waltz, tango, and perform more advanced moves in intermediate classes. Zumba fitness parties add cardio to dance steps, melting calories with Latin-inspired shimmies and lively international music.
