About Ashoka Indian Restaurant
Ashoka serves up a full menu of Indian food, but the restaurant was born out of a love of good wine and good music. After traveling the world, Ashoka's owners wanted to bring the vast array of musical cultures they found back to NYC. So at the restaurant, patrons can listen to live music every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The music pairs with a full spread of traditional Indian cuisine, including lamb saag, lobster masala, and vegetarian curry.

Food was tasty but we ordered chicken tikka masala and paneer Makhani, and we found out they were made with exact same gravy!
We asked the owner to explain why two dishes with different name and distinct explanation tasted absolutely the same! They said that’s how they do it and didn’t want to understand that we ordered separate dishes to have 2 different experiences not one

Good ambience and decent food. Even though there were no other people when we went, the service was not that great. We had to wait for everything and no one came by to ask if we need anything else.
