About Greenwich Village Comedy Club

Greenwich Village Comedy Club owner Al Martin has spent a quarter-century bringing talent such as Chris Rock, Wanda Sykes, and Jim Gaffigan to his pair of Big Apple clubs: New York Comedy Club and Broadway Comedy Club. His newest space, Greenwich Village Comedy Club, brings a mix of big-name headliners and sharp young comics on the verge of fame to the rich cultural mix of a block he described in an interview with Backstage as “the Bourbon Street of Manhattan.” The club pairs its calendar of comedians with a menu of nachos, sliders, and desserts.

I went with a group of 6, double checked about using the extra drink tickets for the 2 friends that couldn’t make it. The bouncer and the waitress both said we could still use those drink tickets. We were charged $6.00 for a bottle of water when my friend asked for a cup of water & $120 for 7 drinks + water. The Groupon was redeemed but not applied and the manager refused to help.

They did not honor the groupon. I was charged for both of my drinks when I was only supposed to be charged for one. When the show was over, I was told to get out when I was waiting to use the bathroom. The staff was rude. I won't be going back to the Greenwich location ever. The Broadway location I had a wonderful time.

Drinks are expensive. We went on a slow night - some of the comics were good, but some were brutal
