Horrible service. I booked the maid service for a 2 bedroom/2 bathroom apartment and and the maid was running late due to a subway delay (not their fault, but still inconvenient), so the company sent over another gentleman in her place. I'm glad I was home to receive him because he had no idea what service I had ordered, even though he brought a piece of paper that clearly detailed the services he was supposed to provide. Not to mention how incredibly unprofessionally he was dressed (my doorman almost turned him away). He said I had ordered a 'basic cleaning', which apparently meant he would only clean the bathrooms and 'mop' the living room. Both the company's website and the paper he brought clearly said that he was to clean every room. I was particularly appalled when I said that I would step out for half an hour to grab lunch and he replied 'Oh I'll be done before then'. For context, it actually took 2 hours to 'clean' the apartment, and he rushed through it the whole time so that he could make his next appointment. While his work in the bathrooms was acceptable, my floors were in terrible shape after he was done. The website clearly states that he was supposed to 'dust and wipe all reachable surfaces' and 'mop all floors'. What he actually did was pour cleaning solution directly on my floors, push it around with a Swiffer (one that I had to provide him), and then let it dry, leaving a film of sticky residue everywhere. Unfortunately, I had stepped out of my apartment while he was doing this, so I couldn't stop him. He had to leave to make another appointment, so I ended up spending another hour scrubbing my floors by hand to get rid of the cleaning solution. In summary, I would not recommend this cleaning service. I can understand if they have to rush and aren't able to clean as thoroughly as I expected, but what is unacceptable to me is that they left the floors in much worse condition than how they started out. I would have much preferred if they had not even bothered to clean the floors, instead of leaving a mess for me to undo.
