Belmont Eatery, Maplewood

Though the building it occupies in was constructed in 1932, Belmont Eatery's menu has a distinctly modern touch. Customers can chow down on The Belmont burger—which eschews ketchup in favor of roasted tomato jam—and add on a side of cauliflower puffs or fried pickles rather than the more-traditional fries. Chicken pot pie is accented with umami-rich miso, and even the hotdogs are assembled in-house from beef and pork and smoked over maplewood. The classics are also well represented, though, including American favorites like burgers, brats, salads, and smoked pastrami, all of which are scratch-made in-house.
