About Arizona Soaring

Since 1969, the FAA-certified instructors at Arizona Soaring have placed their faith in powerful breezes instead of manmade engines. Their fleet of 15 single- and two-person sailplanes catch thermals—which are a daily occurrence at the fair-weather desert location—to soar over the sun-drenched Sierra Estrella among airborne hawks. Teachers train new and experienced pilots in the art of gliding or launch crafts skyward with riders in tow. Glider Rides treat thrill-seekers to mellow basic rides or aerobatic adventures that set hearts pounding.

Excellent staff and crew. Very kind and open to any sort of questions I had.

The staff is very attentive to their business. We arrived and our flights were mixed in with ongoing glider flight lessons. In order to keep our experience moving, the owner and lead glider pilot warmed up and preflighted another tow plane. Our entire experience makes me happy that small family owned businesses are alive and well in America.

The glider flight was everything I had hoped for. The pilot was very professional and demonstrated all the maneuvers I desired. Would highly recommend AZ Soaring to people interested in a glider experience.
