About Youthful Expressions Studio

At Youthful Expressions Studio, three generations of women inspire others to summon and embrace their inner artists using nothing but a little bit of paint, some wine, and a load of friendly encouragement. To run the studio, photographer and writer Mary Jane Booth enlists the help of her talented daughter, Cindy McDannel, a painter and graphic artist, and her arts-minded 11-year-old granddaughter, Kassidi. Together, the three of them make up Youthful Expressions’ "3 Pack," the name of which pays homage to the all-rodent super-group the Rat Pack. The trio continuously hosts fun and accessible art parties for all ages. The two adults also teach BYOB Paint the Town art classes for grown-ups.

This studio is so unique. Although many places in Knoxville exist for group painting classes, YES is such a collaborative effort of local artists in downtown Maryville. The space is shared, and you can view different types of local artwork while you are there. The class itself is really fun with music and snacks. Cindy and MJ are great hostesses, and move you right along in the creation of your masterpiece.

My Mother and I went together for a girls night, and it was the best time we had had in a LONG time!! We are going back again together, thinking of making it a monthly mother/daughter trip (it was that much fun) and also trying to find time when they have classes to take my kids. The art instructors are wonderful! LOVED this place. :) We will be going back.

The company was so enjoyable, and the painting so fun, along with other high spirited guests that we laughed and snacked and did our own interpretation of the painting without criticism! It was a great morning to start our day! The mother and daughter team were hands on to help us do our best, and very kind to us amateurs!!
