What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
The Garage Rock Academy has been transforming absolute beginners in performing rock musicians since 2010. Beginning to advanced classes for guitar, bass, drums, keys and vocals. Already play an instrument or sing? Join one of our Garage Bands. Weekly rehearsals and one guaranteed gig per month!

Do you provide any materials? What should your students expect to bring?
Guitar and bass students will need to bring their instruments only to class, not their amps. Drum students will only need their sticks. Vocal and keyboard students will not need to bring anything extra to class.

What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
The concept was inspired by my experience as the worship music director for jr high and high school services from 2006-2009. I was given students with only some ability on their instruments or as vocalists and told to turn them into a band. I was very good at it and the idea soon became my living :)

What do you love most about your job?
The experience of working with kids being able to impart to them a skill that will serve them for the rest of their lives is priceless to me. Seeing them grow from clumsy beginners into actual rock stars is unbelievably rewarding :)
