BOAT BROKE DOWN DUE TO FAULTY WATER PUMP AFTER 1 1/4 HOURS. TWO-WAY RADIO PROVIDED FOR EMERGENCIES DIDN'T WORK. AFTER FINALLY REACHING THEM BY CELL PHONE, TOOK THEN OVER 1 1/2 HOURS TO RESPOND TO DISABLED BOAT AND THEN TOW BACK TO THEIR FACILITY. REFUSED TO REFUND MONEY OR OFFER ANOTHER DAY OF BOAT USE. UNDISCLOSED $1,500 DEPOSIT REQUIRED ON THE DAY OF RENTAL. BOAT WAS IN VERY WORN CONDITION.

The boat broke down because you ran aground; AKA YOU broke the boat. You were stuck for 1.5 hours because you ran aground and we had to wait for the tide to come up to get you out of there. It is illegal to tow through sea grass at a low tide. Your only option was to wait. The vhf radios are tested daily and all work as they should. While you are out, these are for emergencies, as you stated, to contact the coast guard or police. Running aground is not an emergency. You will only get a response from Tow Boats unless someone was hurt or the boat is sinking.

Awesome time!!!! The staff was very accommodating. I can’t wait to do it again. Please note though that charges for gas are NOT included and we had to pay extra for a captain to drive the boat.

Jennise, thank you for the kind review. For clarification, a captain is not included nor required. These are self-driven boat rentals, the same as if you were renting a car. If you want a captain to take you out, yes, you will have to pay a captain for their time. We do not up-charge captain prices. You pat the captain their rate directly.
