Matador Taco and Tequila Bar, Milwaukee

Matador Taco + Tequila Bar occupies the space between contemporary cantina, sports bar, and hip nightclub. As a result, it attracts a diverse crowd in search of flavorful bites and exciting entertainment to a spot filled with pops of hot pink, bright yellow, and distressed wood. The menu, of course, focuses nearly all its attention on tacos—including pork al pastor, chicken mole, carne asada, and Modelo-battered cod—served three at a time with rice and beans. They're complemented by tableside guacamole, quesadillas, and shrimp ceviche.

The bar, meanwhile, specializes in margaritas like the sweet-and-sour El Diablo made with blood-orange juice. (A few people can share a 60-ounce behemoth version of the house margarita or the frozen fruity one.) Beers and other cocktails fuel guests as they watch all manner of sports on Matador's 15 TVs or pregame before a game or event at the Bradley Center. Friday and Saturday nights see a DJ spinning hot tunes and a dance floor opening up.
