My son (13 years old) had a great time. He took one year off of baseball so I was a little worried how he would blend in. How his skills would be. He loved it and wants to get back into baseball again.

The facility was too cold on such a blustery day, but the kids all seemed to be enjoying the experience. The coaches also seemed to be enjoying working with the kids. Everyone seemed to enjoy the winter opportunity to brush up on baseball skills. We'll most likely be back next year if the offer comes up again.

Great coach who obviously cares about kids. Liked the dome atmosphere in winter, better than a high school gym.

We have attended this camp 3 years in a row. Great instructor-player ratio and a very welcoming environment. Would highly recommend for anyone looking to brush up on skills during the winter months.

Staff was excellent. I was very appreciative of the overall message of the camp. The college players were great role models for the boys and had great tips and advice. I was thankful the hands on correction, as one of my son struggles with auditory directions. The Gatorade hand out was a motivation to stay focused for the whole camp. The boys were asking on the way out if they could attend next year!

From Our Editors

Just because it's winter doesn't mean it isn't baseball season. That's especially true at Augsburg University, where clinking bats and smacking gloves never go into hibernation thanks to the school's annual holiday baseball camp. During the camp, instructors work with campers on the game's most-important fundamentals, including defense, hitting, and pitching. The camp unfolds inside the Augsburg dome over Edor Nelson Field, which boasts batting cages and a state-of-the-art artificial turf for campers to practice on.

  • Designed for: young baseball players aged 9–14, who are looking to improve their skillsets
  • Coached by: Augsburg head coach Keith Bateman in addition to assistant coaches and senior players
  • Equipment needed: baseball attire as well as a hat, glove, and turf or tennis shoes
