Vic's is very cozy and the food is very good. The views of downtown minneapolis and the river are awesome.

I was very disappointed with Vics on this visit. They were clearly under-staffed so the service was slow. The staff are very nice but there only appeared to be two servers working. Our tap beers tasted of vinegar and we were told they recently had their lines cleaned. I ordered the tenderloin sandwich and was a bit disappointed in how little meat was on such a huge bun, especially for that price

The whole, wood fire, chicken was excellent and inexpensive for an upscale restaurant. For $25.25 the dinner included a "plump" whole chicken, vegetable of the day and choice of potato. Creme Brule was runny and lacked flavor.

The crab cakes were soggy. The server did take them back and had them fried longer but they weren't much different. They also had too much pepper taste. It overpowered the flavor of the crab. The wine was reasonably priced. The pasta dish was excellent. The prices were a little high. $13 for a Caesar salad.

A wonderful place to be on Valentine's Day - great service, delicious crab cakes and amazing steak Oskar. One of the only restaurants that serves affordable bottles of wine. Beautiful view of the Mississippi, and horse-drawn carriages. Many thumbs up ;-)

Entree was delish. Potatoes were cold. Event earlier in the afternoon and the tables and chairs were messy. Candles not lite. No one greeted us and I had to track them down to see if we should just be seated anywhere. Long wait for salad and then everything came almost all at once. Seemed as though diners were an afterthought. View of city was wonderful.

From Our Editors

As night falls, the lights of downtown Minneapolis jump to life and ripple across the river. The view sprawls out beneath the floor-to-ceiling windows at Vic's Dining, St. Anthony Falls and Stone Arch Bridge extending naturally out before the dining room. There, silverware clatters steady arpeggios on plates laden with lump crab cakes and short ribs. Chefs prepare the eatery's signature fresh Kobe beef burgers and marinate ribeye steaks in Cajun spices overnight. Glasses click together above these dishes, hinting at a lengthy wine list, which fuels romance more effectively than doves released in small-claims court.
