A very nice place to visit for young and old alike! Really interesting animals and snakes. All cages are clean, and the animals have nice habitats. We'll be going back.

Loved the animal trainer who did the interaction shows with the animals. Also, the safe animals were very approachable. The camel would even stretch out to be petted. there was a petting zoo and packets of food were sold to feed the petting zoo animals. Petting a giant albino python was quite a treat. Hercules is quite docile and easily approachable for children. Learned quite a bit about the animals. They're accredited as a zoo, now and will be expanding onto an additional 25 acres. The white lions were beautiful. Hyenas would laugh on command during the feeding show. Amazing snake collection in the building; some are quite beautiful. No food there, but they let you leave and come back, if you need to.

If it has rained recently make sure you don't wear good shoes because they will get a little muddy.

It's a great place to take your family and get up close with the animals. The staff do wonderful presentations throughout the day. If you don't want to get real dirty but want to enjoy the petting zoo, don't go if it has rained recently.

Bring your camera and money to buy feed. Beware, the llama and goats work together to steal the feed lol

The reptile viewing area is not very big, so if many visitors with strollers, it can get quite crowded and difficult to see all the reptiles. Take your camera for pictures. I don't recall info sessions or shows, which are interesting and good for older kids (at least 5 and up) being announced over a loudspeaker of any sort, so it's possible to miss them if you aren't aware or just really engrossed in another exhibit. There were many more young elementary aged children visiting the day we were there, but my family (2 adults & teenager) enjoyed it, too! We'll plan to go again after they complete their expansion.

From Our Editors

More than 500 exotic animals prowl, scamper, and crawl through their expansively recreated habitats at Animal World & Snake Farm Zoo. One of the rarest and most beautiful of all the animals is on display in the Ghosts of the Jungle presentation. There, two white lion cubs, some of a very small number in the world tumble and play. They're not albinos, but uniquely pigmented animals first seen in the Timbavati region in 1938, and they have beautifully colored eyes that flit intelligently around their space.

There's plenty else to see there, as well. Guests quake with curiosity as they watch the alligator and crocodile ponds. Patrons can interact with cuddlier critters at the petting zoo, where dozens of fluffy goats, alpacas, and llamas gather to tie-dye their coats. Elsewhere, cackles of hyenas reverberate throughout the grounds, spurring a pack of wolves to emit a more introspective sound by baying at the moon. Wizened tortoises bask in a field of lettuce and racing trophies as a duo of ring-tailed lemurs relax in their environment. They also offer 12 shows per day during the off season and 14 shows during the regular season. One of these showcases baby animals where customers can interact with several critters, including baby foxes, otters, and lemurs.
