I don't recall particularly caring for anything I ordered at this restaurant not even the cocktail

The food was really bad. The calamari was OK but the pizza was soggy and the dough was tasteless. The lasagne was runny and Ii don't think it had any pasta in it. Also it is dark and felt dirty and there are about 10 TVs playing 10 different shows. It felt like a tired old sports bar waiting for something exciting to happen.

This was not a positive dining experience, the prices are too expensive and it's absurd to charge an automatic 20% gratuity for a party of two. The restaurant needs better lighting, I like to see exactly what I'm eating. My drink had a bug and the shrimp in the entrees we ordered was not fresh. I was most dissatisfied with the entire experience.

Leonardo Trattoria looks like a dump from the inside and out. If you would clean up the place more (fresh paint, spray down front side walk, get rid of the old furniture and settings inside, create a brighter space, get rid of the horrible black table cloths outside, and the over the door junk style writting/advertising- you would get just as many customers as herb saint. your food is not worth the overpriced menu. if people want to pay that much, herb saint is right next store- as is cochon down the street. Vincent's is a short streetcard ride down too and worth the price. Less oils and butter, more fresh food, (clean out your fryer oil!!!), and you would have a great place!!!!!

The service was not good. The waitress made mistakes on our order and brought the bill out as soon as we finished the entree without even asking if we wanted coffee or dessert.

As a New Jersey native it was wonderful to dine in an environment that felt like home. The young man taking care of us was informative and gave great recommendations. Our meal was a nice change from the cajun/creole cuisine every other restaurant serves.

From Our Editors

Pots of bubbling water cook freshly made pasta until it’s ready to join meatballs and calamari on plates doused in zesty sauces. Nearby, pizzas are loaded with prosciutto, shrimp, and roasted garlic, while fresh mozzarella rains over a pizza crust headed for a wood-fired oven. Leonardo Trattoria forgoes local New Orleans food influences, instead maintaining “a focus on Sicilian dishes and cooking styles,” as Ian McNulty of Gambit writes. The full-fledged Italian atmosphere continues in the dining room, where flat-screen TVs mounted on brick walls play Italian mobster movies or hours of footage of Dante’s writing desk. Outside, lush foliage hangs from a second-story balcony, adding to the ambiance that helped the eatery snag a diners’ choice award for outdoor dining from OpenTable readers.
