The company is advertising on Groupon however they are not professional...did not even show up for the tour. I was so disappointed after booking this several months ago. They didn't even have the common courtesy to answer their phones. So sad.

I scheduled this tour twice and they canceled not times. Groupon will not refund me my money due to their 3 Day policy. A scam ok both ends. Will not be supporting Groupon ever again in any shape or form.

I had to ask Groupon for a refund. Every time I made a reservation the company would cancel it because they stated they needed a minimum number of people to be able to do the tour. On three different occasions I planned to take this tour and all three times it was canceled. I missed out on other events going on in my life because each time I expected to take this tour!

This was the worst food tour I've ever taken. Our guide would go into a shop, walk out with a to go box and we would each get a piece of a sandwich that was cut into 15 little pieces. Then we would walk while we ate it and she would attempt to tell us historical facts that were incorrect. The tour was supposed to be 90 min and it ended up being more like 45. Definitely not worth the money.

The tour guide was 1 hour late. Myself and my friend (Erica Love) both bought tickets for the tour and it was raining that day and we never received phone calls asking if we wanted to cancel due to the weather. The entire tour was unorganized. The way that the food was presented and handed out was very unsanitary. The only thing that made the tour ok was that the tour guide was very knowledgeable and I was able to learn a few things. Also, the tour guide and her son were very unkept and not presentable at all and I would not expect someone taking me on a guided tour and handling my food to present themselves in such a way. I was very disappointed!

We did not have a good experience and would not recommend any Second City Tour because it is very unorganized. We have been on other very enjoyable food tours, so that is why we booked this one. On Second City Tours you end up standing and eating samples on the street with all the other tourists bumping into you. If you are thirsty, you need to go purchase your own. Just a very unpleasant experience.

From Our Editors

Some cities are known for mostly one thing. Chicago for its deep-dish pizza. New Orleans for its gumbo. San Francisco for its Ghirardelli chocolate. But the Windy City, the Big Easy, and the Golden Gate City have so much more to offer visitors searching for great food. That's where Second City Tours comes in. Its guides lead out-of-towners and locals alike to both popular eateries and hidden gems on food tours.

The Chicago walking tours include the Pizza Parade, the Beer and Bacon tour, and the Chicago Food Crawl, which includes stops at two local icons—Portillo's for a Chicago-style hot dog and Al's for an italian-beef sandwich. Most tours take place around the trendy River North neighborhood, though some, such as the Belmont Food Binge, explore other neighborhoods. In New Orleans, tour goers cruise around the historic French Quarter neighborhood snacking on po boys, gumbo, Central Grocery's famous muffaletta, and beignets at Cafe Du Monde, and in San Francisco visitors sample sourdough bread and gourmet chocolates throughout the hilly burg.
