About The Space Sanctuary

The Space Sanctuary is not like any other float spa. Yes, you still float in a chamber filled with body-temperature water and epsom salt, and yes, you still reap the benefits of floating (lowered stress levels, lessened joint pain, etc.). But The Space Sanctuary's tank is set inside a permanent psychedelic art installation, and guests can keep the hatch of the tank open and stare at the neon LEDs overhead. The result is a particularly trippy float session while the floater enters a dream-like state.

The Space Sanctuary is located inside Castillo Blanco Art Studios, a creative space that houses an art gallery, art studio, communal work area, and stage. It even has what it deems a "flying-saucer landing zone" on the roof.

Stay away. This location is a warehouse for a Mardi Gras krewe. The actual tank is in a back corner. It's dirty and the bathroom connected to it where you were to shower before and after was filthy. Tried to get in the tank and it was so dirty around the edges of the opening, that I got dressed and left. Go to a reputable day spa/salon

I really want to give these guys props for trying to bring this to New Orleans, but they just don't have the resources and staff to manage something like this. Room was dirty, and the machine itself was rusty and the water was murky with a cloud of oil on top. It was located in a bathroom that is used by the public for events - the door locks, but it was just dirty and hot. I didn't stay - I left and didn't even get in the machine. I bought two certificates and I won't even both asking for a refund. I just feel kinda bad about it all.

The location and area makes you a little weary, but once talking with the merchant you will feel more comfortable. I love the experience and would definitely visit again.
