First, there was a vision of a world-class art facility where Brooklyn dwellers of all ages and backgrounds could come together and get creative. Later on, that idea was transformed into Brooklyn Center for the Arts–a unique, community-based arts center offering professional instructions in a wide range of artistic disciplines. Now students can attend drama, theater, vocal, African drumming, and even steelpan classes, during which are encouraged to express themselves and have the opportunity to learn and grow together.
