Lillie's, New York

Lillie’s two Manhattan pubs celebrate the beauty and spirit of Victorian sex symbol Lillie Langtry, known for both her theater work and a string of affairs with European royalty. The branch near Union Square conjures up old-world ambiance with antique furnishings, hunting prints, portraiture, a marble fireplace and a carved-wood bar, complete with Corinthian columns. Customers are able to toast Lillie with nearly 20 types of American whiskey, bourbon and rye, plus more than 50 domestic and imported beers. The wine comes from Langtry estate in California, established by Lillie herself in 1888. The pub’s proximity to Union Square fills it to the gills during weekday evenings with all types, including students and office workers.
