Room Service is a vision of opulence: an enormous crystal chandelier is suspended above a marble table, and plush red couches pop against oriental toile wallpaper. It’s not surprising then, that the restaurant’s interpretation of Thai cuisine abounds with gourmet ingredients. Chefs infuse mangoes with pink coconut beet sauce, and they sear Long Island duck with Thai espresso sauce. As in poorly drawn atlases, sometimes east and west criss-cross; the spicy squid ink spaghetti presents big shrimp and calamari over a plate of spaghetti flavored with squid ink, thai chili, and basil.
