About Simplicity Wine Bar & Cafe

After five years managing a retail store, Ana realized she wanted to sell something else entirely: food. So she enrolled in culinary school, where she first honed the skills she now displays at Simplicity Wine Bar & Cafe. Her tapas range from spicy veggie empanadas served with pineapple-mango aioli to cayenne-spiced chocolate cupcakes. With numerous organic varietals to boot, a frequently updated selection of wine by the glass and bottle complements Ana's cuisine and confections.

When eyes aren't glued to Ana's artfully plated dishes, they're probably busy taking in Simplicity's nightly entertainment. The lineup includes plenty of café staples, such as poetry nights, open mics, and Sunday afternoon concerts by award-winning guitarist Jorge Arévalo Mateus. On weekends, live DJs convert the bar into a dancehall by spinning classic reggae and hip-hop tunes.

Nice spot, friendly and family-owned business. They have live music and open mic on certain nights and their wine cocktails are delish! kThey are planning to open up a rooftop bar...I am looking forward to it.

Not knowing about this great little place before purchasing GROUPON!!! A great place to hang out! Met owners Charisse & Chris! Made us feel very welcome and enjoyed a great meal.. Looking forward to getting back to Brooklyn to check out the new balcony!! Thanks Again Charisse & Chris

I was in the NYC area, visiting from Miami and contacted Charisse to make reservations. She was AWESOME! VERY IMFORMATIVE . I purchased this groupon because it looked like a nice chill spot to hang out, while in Brooklyn. We went on a Thursday night and it was the best time of our entire trip. We loved the medley of entertainment. The poetry, singing, and comedy. The band White Powder was definetly DOPE! Beef empanadas and peach moscato were delicious and reasonably priced. Only thing I would change is the lack of ventilation! WHOAH WAS IT HOT IN THERE! Otherwise, cant wait till next year!
