About this business
From Our Editors
Judith Farber owes her style of documentary photography, in part, to her first workshop in the 1970s with Ansel Adams and Yousuf Karsh. Instead of lugging around one of the massive 8?x10? view camera, she decided that she'd rather capture candid, behind-the-scenes images of the masters as they taught the class. Farber then began working as a photojournalist, seeing her photos credited in newspapers, magazines, and books all over the world. After traveling the globe for airlines and travel bureaus and cofounding the educational, member-based website Photoworkshop.com, Farber went on to teach composition to Tibetan children in Dharamsala, Chinese school kids, and New Yorkers?via her most recent teaching endeavor, Sundays In New York.
Farber teaches her students to share her love of street photography, showing them how to find the light and moments of energy that elevate snapshots into art.
