Taekwondo may be the national sport of Korea, but its reach extends far beyond the country's borders. The martial arts discipline experienced a surge in popularity throughout the world in the 1980s, and has remained a go-to form of fitness and self-defense ever since. At Taekwondo, a studio dedicated to the eponymous practice, students learn more than just strikes, kicks, and blocks—they learn discipline, respect, and improved concentration, which are just a handful of taekwondo's benefits. A range of programs cater to kids and adults alike; there's even a Family program, which welcomes parents and kids to group sessions that boast the slogan "a family that kicks together sticks together."
