About Crumb Crossing Bakery and Bistro

Handmade birthday cakes with personalized messages. Cake pops sprinkled with pink and red hearts. Ribbon-shape cookies in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness and Prevention Month. These are just a few of the made-from-scratch goodies at Crumb Crossing Bakery and Bistro. And thanks to a recent expansion, the bakery now serves up a full menu of breakfast and lunch.

Mornings begin with omelettes made from three farm-fresh eggs and chocolate chip or blueberry pancakes. Lunchtime brings the chicken ranch sandwich piled high with grilled chicken, veggies, and cheddar cheese and a soup and salad bar where guests create their own meals.

I never got to go there. They would not let me know if my groupon was approved when I tried to order. Groupon was supposed to look into this and never contacted me back.

It has been my experience that some of the best fare is from locally owned, hometown, hole in the wall establishments. This is not the case with Crumb Crossing. I bought a Groupon in the hopes of finding a new local fav. I left sadly disappointed and will not be returning. Lets begin with the ambiance, there is none. No music playing, no comfy home feeling, nothing but the sound of the clock ticking, not even any other customers to dispel the silence. The coffee was horrible, no creamer available (only milk), and no sugar substitute offered. The tea bags came in unsealed cellophane packages with the flavors written in marker on the outside and some of the tea bags didn't even have an outside wrapper. At the first bite of my eggs I heard a crunch. I don't recall seeing eggshells on the menu. The others in my party did not crunch on their eggs, so that's a positive. Then there's the dry and completely unseasoned american fries, which were merely potato slices thrown on a griddle and cooked too long on one side. My saving grace, or so I thought, would be my toast. Unfortunately this was burned on one side. The toast that the others received was not burned. We were told that even though ham was listed on the menu that they didn't have any. Their menu is not expansive, quite tiny in fact, so for them to not have several of the items that they offered was frustrating. This being a "bakery and bistro," I was expecting to see a showcase with pastries and donuts and was surprised when there wasn't the usual bakery items displayed. I am sure that the owner has a vision of their business succeeding, however I truly hope that they accept the constructive criticism, learning from their customers' reviews and make the necessary changes.
