Initially upon meeting Melinda she was pleasant and welcoming. After we entered the room she hovered over my shoulder as I was filling out client profile commenting on a few of the Things I filled out on my form, I felt that should have been done after she left the room while I was disrobing for my massage and at that time After she returned then ask me questions about myself. Or even better had me fill out form prior to entering room and discuss with me at that time my needs & or other information. Melinda asked me if I had ever had massage and I replied yes close to 100 out in California. She then stated tips were not mandatory but appreciated( I felt that was a bit tacky)She asked if I had any areas I wanted worked on so I told her my back and shoulder area, specifically scapula area. She said if I wanted deep tissue it was $5.00 more, I said just massage was fine. She asked if I minded the fan being on to which I responded no, however it was blowing right on me, a person’s body temp will drop during massage tending to make you colder than normal. Once massage started her hands were shaking like (nervous). She stayed on my right shoulder massaging softly for what seem like a good while before moving to other shoulder. Also my areas of concern I shared with her were never addressed during the massage. I was then asked if I wanted my legs massages to which I replied yes. I thought that seemed an odd question since this was an hour massage. She was sitting on a rolling stool for at least half of the massage. When finished I got dressed left a tip and left the room. Outside her and I talked and I felt compelled to ask her how long she had been doing massage as she seemed new to this line of work. She stated 8 years with a lot of additional education, which I mentioned I noticed on the wall while dressing. I then disclosed to her I had been the manager of a spa in California for 15 years with 50+ massage therapists and estheticians. I felt like someone who has done massage for 8 years should be far better and far more comfortable at their craft by this point. I can say with certainty that I would not likely recommend her to someone else.
