facial was just okay. They put foundation on after the facial without asking- it really bothered me.

OK. I don't usually take the time to write reviews when I've had a poor experience at a business. It takes a lot for me to get to this point. My first step when I am unhappy with an experience I've had with a business is to reach out to them through their "Contact Us" function, to give them the opportunity to make it right BEFORE I go and tell the internet about it. I did that with Spavia. I wrote a civil but strongly-worded note about my experience and in it requested a response. And I got NOTHING. NADA. I heard not a word from them, and it was weeks ago that I sent it. I think I'm most annoyed that they never even responded to my comment, even if they didn't plan to do anything about it. So now I'm here. This was my second visit to Spavia. I will say, my first visit was Ah-mazing, relaxing and wonderful. But that was when they first opened, and I can see a lot has changed. When I walked in, a woman behind the desk was talking very loudly and angrily on the phone, and the man behind the desk didn't even smile at me as he asked for my name and appointment time. Not a very serene start to what was supposed to be my time for relaxation. My actual massage was just ok. She asked me if there were any areas I didn't want her to go near, and I told her my palms, which I have a weird aversion to people touching. But, she clearly just completely forgot about this request because she went to town on my first hand, and then obviously remembered later because she then hardly touched my other arm all together. I had asked her to spend a little more time on my calves and hamstrings, but she ended up only spending a total of about 3 minutes between both legs. I felt like she just completely disregarded my requests. All this I was planning on letting go because after all, its a Groupon massage, so I'm not paying full price.....or so I thought. When I went to pay and showed my Groupon, the man told me the Groupon is NOT VALID ON Saturdays, and it was Saturday. He then said what they have done before is they could waive the 6 month requirement so I can come back before my Groupon expires to use it. OK, its totally my fault for not reading all the fine print...but if you've had this issue before, why didn't you tell me this up front BEFORE the massage? and if you're able to waive the 6 month requirement, why can't you waive the Saturday requirement?? I ended up having to pay $130 for a below-average massage, and am now stuck with a Groupon I don't want to use, and can't return because they are ignoring my request. UGH. End of rant.

My first experience with Spavia was a gift from my children...a day at the Spa. It was heavenly! Tom & Julie are so welcoming and they were so attentive to everything - i.e. if you wanted to carry on conversations or not, to the different aromas you could choose from for your experiences. Their technicians were so wonderful! I have been back for massages and this time a facial. All, equally as fantastic. I'm thinking of becoming a member because I feel if you could have a massage regularly it would be so good for your entire being. I give them 5 stars and can't wait for my next experience.
