We felt a bit rushed by the server and the brown rice was undercooked, but the food was so good that we will definitely come back.

The food was good but the service was not so good. We weren't offered drinks when we sat down and the courses were served sort of haphazardly. The waiter did not seem very interested in servng the table.

IT USED TO BE VERY GOOD, NEW OWNER(S) I THINK. SERVICE WAS SLOW, FOOD SEEMED AS THOUGH IT WAS REHEATED FROM EARLIER IN THE DAY? WOULD NOT GO BACK OR RECCOMEND

We had purchased the dinner for 4 with 2 appetizers and 4 entrees. I believe the server was deceitful, as he only allowed us to choose from the Vegetables, Chicken or Lamb selections, excluding the Seafood and Tandoori specials. The Groupon clearly stated only the Tandoori mixed grill was excluded. We did not argue the point as we were afraid of our food being tampered with in the kitchen. When the bill arrived, he charged much more for the garlic naan than the listed price in the menu. When we questioned him, he reduced the price to one naan (we had ordered two). Just a very bad feeling that he lied to us about what we were able to order and then charging us 50% more for the naan.

The first time we went there to use our voucher, there was a handwritten sign on the door saying that the restaurant was closed because of kitchen problems. The night we went back, they were not at all busy, yet seemed disorganized and were either out of a lot of stuff...or they told us that they were out of a lot of stuff because they did not ant to sell it to someone with a voucher. The waiter was not particularly friendly or apologetic about the restaurants deficits. The actual food that we wound up with was not bad, but with so many good restaurants in Marin, including other Indian restaurants, we would never go back there. If they are hoping to promote their business with these vouchers, they are going about it the wrong way. They need to be a lot more accomidating.

Service was not the greatest, they took the groupin early then fogot they had & had to change the bill. Waiter offered us the Naan for free when we hestitated to order it & then we were charged for it anyway. But all & all we enjoyed the food but it was a bit further to drive than we would normally go for a casual dinner.

You should serve rice with your meat dishes. Having to pay extra was rude, Also the automatic service fee was not right. Let the custumer deside.

From Our Editors

The key to making chef Hardip Singh’s northern Indian cuisine, like the key to backflipping a marathon, is preparation. He and his staff at Anokha Cuisine of India grease their pans with canola or olive oil only, buy organic ingredients when possible, and blend their spices by hand. All that prep pays off. The menu features flavorful versions of prawn curry in tomato-onion gravy, lamb vindaloo with blazing-hot spices, and chicken tikka masala in a mild cream sauce.
