A little tough to find a parking spot near the restaurant.

It was not busy on the week night we were there. We took the kids and it was a great experience. 2 of our 3 kids want to eat at Espana for their birthday dinners!

Grape leaves are the most authentic I've had in omaha.

They're serious about not combining daily specials with the Groupon. Not even the Wednesdays 1/2 off bottles of wine when you're spending over $60 on tapas anyway. But the food is worth it.

They will only let you use one Groupon - Even if you are in a group of people and you each want to pay with your own Groupon. Also, you cannot use your Groupon in combination with any of their other specials (such as Tapas Tuesdays or Wine Wednesdays.)

Food was good. Sangria not so much. Go for food. Ambience is not great though.

Great food. Go with a group and order a variety. There are many good choices.

The only "meal" on the menu is Paella. Otherwise it's a very large menu of mostly sharable appetizers - suggested 2 to 3 appetizers per person if you're not going to order one of the Paella choices (takes 40 minutes). Don't let that stop you, though!!! The food is absolutely amazing!!! Wonderful palette of flavors. The fried dates are to die for and could be considered a dessert. Delicious!

The tapas are ok - but the prices are outrageous for the tiny plates you get - its wayyy too expensive in this regard and would be preferable if the prices reflected the actual quantity of food received. It not like each plate is that labor intensive or special to warrant such high prices. Hummus, grape leaves, cubed potatoes - all these items are found at other restaurants for a fraction of the cost and sometimes better prepared.

We thought the food was great. Two tapas each made a good meal. The wine (Tres Picos, Granacha) was good. Remeber, half price wine, on Wednesdays, does not work with a Groupon. We had good service.

From Our Editors

When drinking from a traditional Spanish porrón, diners must precariously funnel a stream of wine into their open mouths through a spout. Fortunately, at Espana, named by Food Network as one of nine essential restaurants in Omaha, gracious staffers provide the daring drinkers with a glass of soda water to clean any spills from their shirts.

Porrón wine is only one of the Spanish traditions visitors encounter at the authentic Mediterranean restaurant, where more than 40 varieties of hot and cold tapas pair with pitchers of sangria amid the strains of a guitar. In the kitchen, chefs assemble exotic spices, fine meats, seafood, and vegetables onto small plates, drawing inspiration from generations-old Spanish recipes. They also prepare paella, a family-style rice dish that typically includes veggies, saffron, and meats. In 2009, an Omaha World-Herald writer lauded their paella a la tierra for its "earthy and rich, yet light and delicate" snails and "perfectly cooked" rice.

Out in the dining room, tapas plates speckle colorful red and yellow tables beneath the vivid abstract paintings that hang from sea-green walls. Each month, the dining-room stage hosts live cultural performances, which allow guests to enjoy Spanish guitarists, Spanish dance shows, and Spanish renditions of popular scenes from Good Will Hunting.
