Heartland Bike Share, Omaha

As the first bike-share system in the city, Heartland B-cycle helps residents get where they need to be safely and quickly, all while staying healthy and reducing their carbon footprint. Members simply find a nearby station on their smartphone or computer, unlock a bike, ride it to their destination, and return the bike to an available space at another B-cycle station's dock. With dozens of stations throughout Omaha and across the river in Council Bluffs, users can reach wide swaths of the metro area without ever getting into a car. And the bikes are comfortable and safe for nearly everyone thanks to adjustable seat posts, storage baskets, fenders, chain guards, and automatic lights.
