After years of working as a massage therapist, Yesenia Osorio happened upon salt therapy. She immediately recognized it as a way to boost holistic healing and introduced it to her studio, Salt and Spa, becoming Nebraska's first halotherapy spa. Salt therapy—also known as halotherapy—is based on a European technology designed to replicate the conditions of natural salt mines.

Like the original mines, therapy rooms infuse the air with salt particles, allowing patients to simply relax while the process plays out. Salt therapy rooms can be used by people of all ages and many other locations allow kids and adults to use the same space at the same time. If that sounds like the opposite of relaxation, the spa agrees. That's why they've built two rooms, one for adults looking to wind down, and one for kids under 12.

Besides the salt-therapy sessions, the facility also offers spa services such as facials, chemical peels, and waxing. There's also a whole range of massage modalities, from deep-tissue sessions that release chronic tension to Yesenia's specialty, oncology massage, which treats the physical effects of cancer.
