The East and the South collide at Sushi Burrito of Orem, whose cooks creatively fuse Japanese cuisine with Mexican culinary techniques to make the namesake creations. Swapping out ground beef and melted cheese for the likes of albacore tuna and cream cheese, the kitchen staffers create a lineup of unique, multi-national burritos that span the flavor spectrum, from sweet to spicy.
Make no mistake, though: the cooks don’t just stuff the massive, Japanese-style burritos with fresh (and cold) fish and vegetables—they also swaddle up the likes of grilled steak and fried katsu chicken for dishes that are as hearty as they are warm. And for those who are in the mood to bust out a fork or pair of chopsticks, they prepare a number of rice bowls that can brim with grilled meats or teriyaki salmon.
