Sixty minutes. That's all you have once trapped inside one of Lockdown Cleveland's rooms, and time seems to move a lot faster here. These escape-room games place up to 10 players in fully immersive environments that are filled with puzzles and clues. Solve them, and escape toward victory. Fail, and avoid making eye contact with disappointed pets when you get home. Lockdown Cleveland's game designers keep thinking up new game scenarios. Here are two of their current ones:

• Room No. 9 (45% escape rate): This spooky room transports players back to an old hotel on the night of April 4, 1978. The staff warns guests that no one survives more than an hour in the room, but for some reason, people keep renting it anyway.

• The Tomb (35% escape rate): It's 1921, and the world is obsessed with all things Egypt. A mysterious stranger hands players a map to the priceless archaeological gem known as King Tut's tomb, and they quickly discover it's real. They manage to make it all the way into the tomb, but soon find out that getting out is a lot harder than getting in.
