I loved everything about my experience at Social Club from the ambiance to the dessert. The menu was just the right size and there was a good selection of local beer. The food was served hot and delicious with the service being friendly and attentive.

food service was slow. Menu small, I would get bored quickly with it. The Pate was absolutely not what we were expecting, it was more like headcheese. Porkchop kind of tough and dry. Desert, brioche, was lovely and not huge and filling. Porkbelly and beans very tasty, I wish I could get a larger portion of that then the traditional entres presented. Food not particularly shareable, and the set up of the room is not particularly social, I was expecting something innovative. The tables felt a bit crowded in, but not in a family style way.

Food is beautifully prepared and presented, it's a shame everything was so oversalted we sent one dish back, and didn't enjoy others. Even the waitress commented that other people were saying the same thing. The country music was quite loud, and I asked that it be changed or turned down, so the bartender turned it down. The food is gourmet but the atmosphere they seem to be going for doesn't match my needs..kind of country western-lets all have fun- and eat fancy food...weird for a nice dinner out..burgers would have made more sense...

Would love to see one or two more vegetarian entrees. Maybe a little less salt in each dish.

I ate there once before and it was tasty and the service was good. However the second time I went I got terrible food poisoning. Was dry heaving until 6am. In fact besides one time in Mexico where we ended up in the hospital, it was the worst food poisoning I have gotten. For the record I ordered fried pickles appetizer, salad, steak and veggie side dish. Ugh horrible memory.

From Our Editors

"Rustic, yet refined" can describe both Social Club Restaurant & Bar’s ambiance, characterized by wooden beams, hanging chandeliers, and large windows, and its offerings on various menus, crafted with care by executive chef Bob Simontacchi. As Bob's kitchen staff prepares salt-cod fritters, smoked-gouda mac 'n' cheese, and their special fried chicken, bartenders pour single-malt scotches and selections from more than 50 bottled craft beers. On Sundays, the restaurant buzzes with conversation fueled by sangria and bellinis at brunch and live music after 6 p.m.
