I'm a single woman traveling alone. Their lodge in back is where they put me. Not a safe feeling at all. No Microwave in room. No brochure on TV channels. Too bad the fire destroyed trees around this area. Not a pretty place to be. Too far out of town.

It's not fancy, but it's clean, comfortable, conveniently located, and comes with a great staff. I would stay there again, and would recommend it to friends.

While the room was very nice, the staff, especially the kitchen staff didn't seem to know what they were doing. The surrounding area to the lodge was burnt down, and while this is not the fault of the lodge, it was not an enjoyable view to visit.

The trees around lake bastrop lodge are burned from the forest fire and have not recovered to the kind of lushness you want from an outdoor trip. It looks pretty depressing. If u stay on the ground floor, u can hear every stepdad by people above
