If you're running in cold weather, make sure to wear thermal gear. If you're running around Christmas, make sure that thermal gear's an ugly sweater. During The Ugly Sweater run, runners don their lamest attire to help them sweat through a 5K course with plenty of holiday cheer along the way. At the starting line, activities such as photo stations and inflatables let you warm up with fun before embarking toward the finish line, where you can take photos with a 40-foot Santa and a human-sized snow globe surrounded by fake snow.
After the race, all finishers receive a knit hat, finishers' medal, and complimentary Kahlúa cocktail. And the most committed participants might even go home with more, thanks to awards for Best Ugly Sweater, Best Kids Sweater, Best Pet Attire, and Best Real (and Fake) Mustache or Beard.
