Brew Fiesta, Phoenix

A Stormtrooper equipped with a blaster, an armored Batsuit complete with utility belt, an elaborate Wonder Woman costume—this is the kind of cosplay going on at Arizona Cosfest, taking place October 27–28, 2017. The fest welcomes people of all ages and interests to dress in their most detailed costumes, whether they embrace the realm of modern-setting role-playing games or throw back to old-school comic-book heroes—and the winner of the cosplay contest takes home a prize.

To complement the cosplay component, the fest hosts a huge auto show exhibiting a wide array of cars as well as a variety of vendor booths and live music by international and local artists (DJs also spin all varieties of music to keep the party going). The fest accepts non-perishables for donation to St. Mary's Food Bank, and a percentage of its ticket sales benefits the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Tip: Bring your furry friend along—service and tamed dogs are allowed.
