Change doesn’t happen by sitting down—the folks behind Phoenix Frontrunners believe this sentiment on both a literal and metaphorical level. In other words, the non-profit organization mobilizes citizens for human rights, health education, and mental health by literally mobilizing their bodies during multiple running and walking events throughout the community. Over the course of a year, the organization helps raise awareness for various causes—from veteran suicide prevention to helping homeless youth—via timed marathons, half marathons, 10Ks and 5Ks. Popular events include Rio Salado Trail Run, Pride Run Phoenix, Howling Night Run, and Rally Point Arizona Run where participants receive finisher medals and apparel and can complete for overall and age group division awards.
