The scent of hot, sugary confections lets passersby know they’re approaching The Donut Shop of Rincon. The shop’s chefs rise early to start baking fresh treats each day, such as raspberry-filled cake donuts, glazed yeast donuts, and cinnamon-crusted twists. They also concoct breakfast sandwiches from sausage, bacon, ham, and cheese, and salads filled with chicken. As they create, they’re surrounded by wall murals depicting donuts dripping with frosting, steaming lattes beneath mountains of whipped cream, and piles of donut holes slowly becoming self-aware.
