The meals were good, not great; service, excellent; small quantities for large prices. This is a tavern not a restaurant.

The food we had was delicious and we were disappointed in the portion size. We didn't expect that considering the casual venue.

DEFINITELY try this awesome restaurant. The current chef is unbelievably talented! I was expecting regular pub food, but it is soooo much better. Wow. Wow. Can't recommend it enough. Try the beet terrine for a sweet & wonderful surprise. And the salmon. Or just ask for some ordering advice. I'm so glad I got this Groupon! :-) (And no, this is not a paid advertisement!)

New chef with small yet delicious plates with great presentation. Wonderful fruit complements such as mango, pineapple, and to the meat dishes. Our waiter was fantastic as well.

Chief Paul lively is amazing. His ability to mix flavores is impressive. We had one of the best dinners in Portland last night . I have lived in the Portland area for almost 30 years. I have enjoyed Portland,s restaurant seen quite often. Last night was definitely one of the top five in thirty years. Thank you Paul ! Your simply an artist .

They serve mostly gluten free food and it is delicious. For those that can enjoy gluten, they would never know it. Very good.

From Our Editors

The Portland & Rochester Railroad once connected Portland to Quebec, the Maritimes, and the rest of New England. While tracks still line some of the city's cobblestone streets, the train stop is now home to Portland & Rochester Public House. Using local ingredients, the pub's cooks draw on the culinary traditions of those provinces once connected by the rail. Lobster cakes with spicy harissa, for instance, pay homage to New England's seafood, and a poutine of house-cut fries, bacon, and ducky gravy honors Quebec. To complement those dishes, bartenders decant local beer from eight taps, serve wine from a 20-bottle collection, and handcraft cocktails, including several house-infused bourbon options.
