I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. The service is poor and the food is expensive with very small portions. I was not impressed with the quality of the food.

At the price range, we were expecting a fairly decent setting. We sat outside. The tables were rusty and filthy. The staff was dressed in street clothes. We were greeted by our server/cook/manager (tattoos and a tongue piercing), who made it a point to explain that she was the only one doing anything. At one point, while the server/cook/manager was at our table, another employee came into work. There was a tense moment between our server and the staff member. I'm guessing the staff member that came in was in trouble for something. She took over close to the end of our meal. I ordered the Tiramasu and the check. When she brought the Tiramasu, it was a huge mess on my plate. She kind of laughed about it skittishly and said that she was sorry she messed it up. Both of them clearly had a Methamphetamine problem. The food was decent, but certainly not worth $16 a plate. If the atmostphere was a little better, the staff more professional, then I wouldn't have had an issue overpaying for the food. We had to go to the front to pay our check.

seemed lacking in cleanliness/maintenance. Of the 3 dishes we ordered for 3 people, one came out much later than the other 2. It was ok, but not great- been there many times in the past and it seems to have gone downhill in terms of service and quality of ingredients- love that it is family-owned and local but not sure we'll go back again soon.

From Our Editors

Nino Piccolo grew through adolescence in Sicily, where he acquired the culinary prowess to craft pizzas and pastas from centuries worth of classic Sicilian recipes. At Nino's Italian Restaurant, his dishes remain true to that cultural and familial tradition, stressing the importance of authenticity by drawing on ingredients imported from Italy and specialty cheeses imported from the moon. The salsiccia entree exemplifies Old-World tastes with fresh-ground italian sausage slow-cooked in tomato-basil sauce squeezed from fresh, vine-ripened fruit, and the Nonna entree, nicknamed "Grandma's pasta," edges out hunger with rigatoni under eaves of sweet, roasted peppers, pancetta, and capers. A façade of windowpanes allows natural light to fall upon red-and-white-checked tablecloths and a painting of a sunrise tinged with teal and yellow. Tabletop lamps illuminate plates and add dramatic flair to ghost stories indoors, whereas Mother Nature brightens an outdoor patio humming with ceiling fans.
