The Lodge at Suttle Lake, Sisters

The Lodge was beautiful, cabin adorable, grounds,weather gorgeous. To keep things short, we had tried to bbq our dinner, restaurant was closed, went thru 4 tanks, no gas and no one to fill them. We don't mind tipping, we prefer to chose how much we tip ourselves. We hung up our towels for a 2 use but expected our shower cleaned and bed made, didn't happen. Wine social,ok, the 2 night the cheese was cut soo small it was hard to spear with a toothpick, we did not care for the wine, hardly touched the glasses, did not ask nor were offered another. While the Lodge at Suttle Lake is a gorgeous location, the staff were very unprofessional. Every aspect of our stay at this resort was messed up. Even though we reserved a specific cabin 6 months in advance, we got a different cabin. No apologies. Took half an hour to get water and menus at their restaurant. When the food arrived half an hour later, I did not get what I ordered instead got the daily special. When I mentioned it to the waitress she said everyone loves the special won't that work? I told her I was a vegetarian so no a chicken dish would not work. We ordered in-cabin massage and they never showed up. The location is wonderful - the service not so much.

We were not granted the room we paid for because the weekends were so booked, despite booking our stay months in advance. We settled for a room on the 1st floor and could barely sleep because of the noise in the room above us. The meal was good, but not great for the price. We loved the beauty products, massages, and the Lodge itself, but feel the weekend was slightly overpriced for the experience.

It was nice, and quiet, but there were hidden fees and frustrations that bothered us. There was a mandatory 20% tip on the free massage, taxes and "occupancy fees" on the room, wi-fi was spotty, no few channels for TV, and the gift basket promised in the Groupon was given to us on the last day, but we had to advocate for it 3 times over the couple of days we were there. It was a nice place, beautiful scenery, and it was a good place to get away. It was just that we thought we were getting a deal, and there were some frustrations that I think shouldn't have been there if they want me to recommend them to others. I expressed my concerns with them in a comment card, no response.
