The staff was excellent with my 3 grandson's, one being Autistic. They had a great time riding ponies, and petting the quite tame animals. It was a wonderful experience for the whole family. Thank you for the great experience Gary V. Aka grandpa.

We had a great time at Tashunka Farms the other day. We got to see chickens and find an egg in the hen house, feed a couple of fainting goats and miniature horse, we said hello to a dozen or so horses as well as pet one, and we got to pet a funny donkey named Paco, a sweet little cow and a chinchilla...probably the softest animal on earth. Our tour guide Margaret was very sweet and patient with my 4 and 2 year olds and answered even the silliest of questions. It's good to know this place exists, I have a feeling we will be visiting again!

We had about 45 min private tour. Stuff explained about animals. We pet goat, miniture hourse, miniture donkey, miniture cow, hourse, bunny and chinchilla! Since it was private, it was gentle for animals too. Kids loved experience, even adult too!

I already sent a thank you note. My two-year-old grandson had a great time. Nice accommodations for the rain. Interesting assortment of common and not so common animals.

From Our Editors

On Tashunka Farms’ nine acres, the farm border collie often greets visitors at the gate. This fuzzy welcome is par for the course at the farm and animal refuge, where two spacious arenas hold stables and horsemanship camps. Equestrian training and horse care are the facility’s bread and butter. This care also extends to the motley crew of the petting farm, whether it’s to one of the fuzzy lionhead rabbits, soft chinchillas, fire-breathing chickens, miniature pigs, donkeys, horses, and cows, or peculiar fainting goats that stiffen and fall over when they’re alarmed or excited.
