About Family Martial Arts & Fitness

What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition? At Family Martial Arts & Fitness, the classes are broken up by age and rank, so that all students receive the best instruction available. Family Martial Arts is Matsubayashi Ryu Okinawan Karate under the leadership of Don Caponigro (7th degree black belt).

Is your location strictly for adults, or can kids participate as well? All ages welcome (kids and adults). Kids ages start at five years; anything younger will have to be evaluated prior to acceptance.

What was the inspiration to start or run this business? I started Karate when I was five years old and have been studying now for over 50 years. I have owned my own Dojo for over 30 years and love teaching.

What do you love most about your job? Teaching the art of Karate and watching the students learn and apply the art to their lives.
