Disappointed. I don't understand the selection criteria of groupon. Why this restaurant was included on their list.

Food was OK but the service was abysmal. We were the only ones there and it took about 40 minutes to get served. The waiter could hardly speak English which didn't help.

When we entered the restaurant and said we had a Groupon, the two people (one, possibly the owner?) looked at each other. We didn't feel that they were particularly pleased to see us. We ordered the vegetarian thali. Although the food was quite good, there were dishes substituted for those listed on the menu. I was particularly interested in the saag paneer, but received and dish with the homemade cheese and onions (instead of spinach). My friend hates onions, and I wanted the spinach! I want to be informed if a dish isn't available. On the menu, it appeared that there was a choice of two kinds of breads with the thali, however, we were told that there was only one.

My family and I used to love the items served here. In the past few months the cook(?) or owners (?) have changed and the food is less appealing. Service is slow & they seem so disorganized. It never used to be like this. We went to this restaurant for over 10 years, maybe not anymore though!

The main and only reason I bought the groupon for this restaurant is because I was craving for Haka Noodles. The advertisement that Groupon sent me, had a very appetizing picture of the haka noodles, and when I looked up the menu it was listed there as well, so I decided to give them a try. When I called the restaurant (the phone number was incorrect on the website as well) they told me they no longer carry this item. So i was very disappointed. That being said, I went ahead and ordered the Chili Chicken and the Chicken 65. I am a foodie and I love to cook, so I know what good food is all about. The food was awful, far from being fresh and it was a complete let down.

Very personable waitress on front desk. She made the wait for my "to go" meal enjoyable by teaching me about the cricket game that was on TV. (I am a middle aged woman, so her hospitality was much appreciated.)

Thank you for being so understanding and helpful in helping me choose foods that were appropriate for my daughter with food allergies. The food was delicious! We will definitely be back!

From Our Editors

The owner and chef of the recently renovated Royal India Express was born in Punjab—an Indian region famed for its tandoori cuisine. Now under new management, the restaurant re-creates the tastes of that region, with a particular specialization in biryani. The chef roasts marinated shrimp in a clay tandoor oven, stuffs naan with garlic, and simmers tender goat meat in creamy curry sauce. Diners can also order from the Indo-China portion of the menu, which includes entrees such as chili-spiced paneer cheese with onions and peppers. An on-site sweets shop allows customers to taste traditional Indian desserts such as doughy gulab jamun or kheer.
