About Swim RVA

Swim RVA's mission is to make water safety and aquatic fitness more accessible to everyone in the area. It accomplishes that goal by utilizing a few important numbers.

  • 7-station curriculum utilized by the swim school, which offers lessons for kids aged 6 months and older
  • 30,000 free swim lessons have been administered through the learn-to-swim program since it began working with second-graders throughout the region in 2012
  • 70 weekly group wellness classes fill the schedule; 12 types of aquatic fitness courses are offered

The huge disappointment is this, if you can only use the pool on the weekends, the instructional pool is often closed for kid parties for the day, and they are not published on the website. I would go to the pool , check in and not be able to use the pool . There are 2 swim lanes open but they were always being used. For the cost of the membership, the management should NOT close the pool for adults that want to improve their health. they could section off a small area or 2 lanes for the kids. Otherwise, the pool is awesome! Olympic size and the chlorine is not so bad that you cannot open your eyes in the pool area like at American family Fitness.
