Since 1987 David Johnston has made his living capturing the complexity and emotion of everyday life, turning milestones—such as a new birth, a graduation, or a wedding—into a tangible touchstone that lasts forever. Though he first entertained his artistic passion by snapping photos of scenic landscapes, Johnston tired of the vistas devoid of living subjects, the panoramas free of warm smiles, and the meadows indifferent to the joy of high-school graduations and engagements.
