Bergen Fencing Club is all about competitive fencing—and not the kind that involves feuding neighbors with an insatiable thirst for yard sovereignty. The time-honored sport of strategic swordsmanship is the focus here, which, in addition to fortifying one's ability with a saber, can help build mental skills, physical agility, self esteem, and focus. The skilled coaches help athletes of all abilities, from beginners to experienced fencers, master the fundamentals and prepare for competitions that range from local outings to international tournaments. The club also helps assist fencers with their college placement, boasting alumni that have gone on to compete at top colleges and universities such as Harvard, Notre Dame, and Cornell.
